Privacy notice
Your information.
Your choices.
Geischtliweg is a voice companion for children, with settings intended for a parent or carer. This notice explains how the app processes speech, what it keeps on the device and when network services are involved. The app is operated by ishumilin.
Geischtliweg privacy policy · Updated
Who is responsible
ishumilin is responsible for the app processing described in this notice. For privacy questions or requests about your information, contact geischtliweg@shumil.in.
Microphone and conversations
Voice interaction requires microphone permission. When the child starts listening, the app uses the microphone to recognise their speech on the device. A local language model uses the recognised text to generate a reply. Geischtliweg does not send microphone recordings or conversation transcripts to an app server for recognition or reply generation.
The app stops an active voice turn when it goes into the background. You can refuse or revoke microphone permission in the device settings. Without permission, voice interaction is unavailable.
How replies are spoken
Geischtliweg normally uses its local voice models to speak replies. If a local voice is unavailable, it can use the operating system's speech service instead. The reply text is then passed to the speech engine selected on the device. That text may refer to words or details from the child's conversation.
The system speech engine's processing and any network use depend on the operating system, installed voices and device settings. We therefore cannot promise that every spoken reply is processed entirely offline. You can check the device's speech and voice settings for the service in use.
Model downloads and connection information
Speech recognition and reply generation need model files stored on the device. The app downloads required files from ai.shmln.cc. Local voices are included in store builds, but missing voice files can also be downloaded. Changing language can require an additional voice download.
Downloads wait for Wi-Fi by default. A parent or carer can change this setting or choose to continue using mobile data. Downloads can continue or resume in the background.
As with other internet requests, the download service receives connection information such as your IP address, the requested model file and the time of the request. The server and its network services can keep technical and security logs. Model downloads do not include the child's conversation text or microphone recordings.
Temporary conversation context
To make follow-up questions work, the app keeps up to six exchanges in working memory. It does not save this context as a conversation history. The context is reset when the app moves into the background, and a new reply starts with fresh context after ten minutes of inactivity.
Resetting that context is different from clearing everything visible on screen. The most recent question and reply can remain displayed while the app is still running. These behaviours are not a guarantee of immediate erasure from all device memory or operating-system diagnostics.
What stays on the device
The app stores settings and model files locally so they are available the next time it opens. It does not require an app account or synchronise these settings to an account on our server.
- Language, Wi-Fi download preference, voice-effect preference and whether the initial download offer has been shown.
- The current trail station and a dated count used by the trail's friend activity.
- Downloaded speech-recognition, language and voice model files.
Analytics and diagnostics
Geischtliweg does not integrate an app analytics service or automatically upload app diagnostic events to a crash-reporting service. It does keep a limited diagnostic buffer in memory, and warnings or errors can appear in local device logs.
Diagnostics collected or shared by Apple, Google or your device manufacturer are controlled by their services and your device settings. They are separate from Geischtliweg's own app behaviour.
Choices for parents and carers
A parent or carer should review microphone permission, download settings and the device's speech service before a child uses voice interaction. Settings require a deliberate opening gesture, but this is not identity verification or a verified parental-consent process.
Geischtliweg does not ask the child to create an account, provide a date of birth or enter contact details. There is no advertising integration in the app. Please avoid sharing information in conversation that the child does not need to disclose for the activity.
If you email us, we receive your address and the information you include so that we can respond. Please do not send a child's recordings or conversation details unless they are necessary to explain the issue.
Removing local data
The Delete models control removes downloaded model files and unloads the local voice model. It does not reset saved preferences or trail progress, and it cannot remove voice assets included in the installed app itself.
Other local app data can be managed through the operating system's storage controls. What remains after clearing data, uninstalling or restoring a backup depends on the platform, secure storage and backup settings. Uninstalling is not a promise that every preference or backup copy is erased.
